Some Hipster Hairdresser Work This Week...

I don't often show the process of how things work...and to most stylists the process of hair painting is old hat by now.  However, I'm asked on a weekly basis "how it works" by clients, friends, and other hairstylists.  So here is the ugly truth...

Hair painting has come a long way in the last few years, but the process isn't the prettiest thing in the world.  But the outcome doesn't lie...

I got to dabble with fantasy color a little bit this week too.  Though its not my specialty, I still really enjoy the challenge of these colors.  The lighting in the photo below is a little misleading.  The purple is actually much more on the lavender side.  Can we agree that this kid is totally amazing?

I'm usually very apprehensive about blondes going darker.  As a blonde I understand that the impulse to change your color is common...but you should ALWAYS take a few days to think about it.  Here is one instance where I was TOTALLY ON BOARD...

This week wasn't all fun color projects.  I had a few really fun cuts as well.  One of my favorite young ladies, Lucia, came in for a DRASTICALLY shorter cut than we've done in the past.  I think we can all agree how perfect she is with this cut.  The kid is a living, breathing, pixie.

The age of the long bob is still in full swing.  Unlike most trends, I actually really love this one.  It is flattering on most women, of all ages.  Where the reigning champ of haircuts, the long layer isn't all that customizable, the long bob is endlessly so.  Here is a favorite from this week.

Lets end on something ridiculous.  On Tuesday I wore a sweater that gave all of my clients antlers, which I love obviously.  It made me giggle all day.
