Suburban Anthropologist #5: Summer is ending...

You guys. I've had the BEST. SUMMER. EVER.  And though we still have a week and a half left of the official season, it really does feel like fall.  Kids are in school. Pumpkin spice is kind. And this morning, I woke up to chilly weather.  Sheesh...that was fast.

I have really tried to take advantage of the wonderful warm weather that we had this summer, and went on a lot of adventures since my last Suburban Anthropologist post.

I really like this photo from a NYC bar crawl that I went on with friends.  My friend Turkey Leg Jeff was nice enough to take this. :)

Early this year Adam and I got season passes to Hersheypark.  I made the trip down to the park eight times this summer, and I had an absolute blast.  I'm so sad the seasons almost over. :/

Continuing in my "study" of beer, I recently visited Weyerbacher brewery in PA.  I didn't love the space, but the beer was beyond amazing.

We look forward to Scandinavia Fest every summer.  I thought this tapestry resembled my tattoos!

Perhaps the greatest feeling in the world...getting your hair done.  Thank you Alyssa at Bangz for hooking my roots up.  I needed it BAAAAAAAA.

Now get out there and enjoy the waning days of summer!  If you don't take advantage of it now, you have NO RIGHT complaining about the long winter. ;)

Suburban Anthropologist

I had a pretty boring week. I'm not saying that like its a bad thing.  I was busy as usual at the salon...but wasn't thrown any curveballs this week.  No color corrections. Nobody cut their own bangs and wanted them "fixed."  Nobody wanted to go from fire engine red to platinum blonde.  In that regard I had a pretty boring, otherwise known as relaxing, week.  I was able to continue my life as a suburban anthropologist. This is where I go through a weeks worth of random photos and see what they tell me about life...

It's pretty rare that I actually take the time and get my double process done at Bangz...I usually do it myself at home. When the opportunity presents itself I take it.  Thanks Julianna for taking time out of  your day.  This is perhaps the most unflattering picture of all time...

On Thursday night   Cowans Public had their one year anniversary party...including many rare beers tapped just for the occasion. Anyone who knows me at all would realize that this was basically curated towards me.  Unfortunately they weren't offering flights during the event, and I was only able to try a couple beers. Womp womp.  Cowans is a lovely bar, and I'm glad to have them so close.

On the home front, Adam and I continue to prepare for the arrival of baby.  Before anyone asks: No...we don't know when baby is coming.  And No...we don't know if it will be a boy or girl.  In the mean time, to help in my anxious waiting, I'm preparing the nursery.  This includes Peter Pan themed murals.  The picture above is just the first stage in a map of Neverland.  I'll keep you updated as I work on it.

I wanted to include the last two photos because they make me happy.  Joia, the makeup director at Bangz, is basically my therapist, and I love her so much. :)
